America, Meet Drew

Drew Ryniewicz (now, just Drew) was an unassuming 14-year old girl who sang her version of Justin Bieber’s “Baby” during THE X FACTOR audition and blew the judges away.

She tells us, “I took one of the most popular songs in the radio and I made it my own. And I feel like the judges saw that uniqueness in me, that I can do something like that. I can change up the song and make it so different from the original, yet just as good.” And Drew proved that her unique artistry was what kept her in the competition week after week.

And how did people back home feel about her audition? “My hometown went crazy just seeing my audition,” she said. “I was getting phone calls from every place that could interview. They just wanted to talk to me because they’ve supported me for so long.” Well, this small town girl definitely made her family and friends proud when she made it through auditions all the way to the Top 7.

“I didn’t think I would make it this far,” she says. When asked whether she would be more interested in winning the $5 million record prize or meeting Justin Bieber, she couldn’t hide her excitement. “If I win $5 million, you know you can pay to go hang out with Justin Bieber. So I’m saying I can get the whole package if I win," she says.

Drew, unfortunately, did not win THE X FACTOR, but we know that this talented young lady has a long way to go in her musical career. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for us.

Drew made it to the Top 7 and was eliminated on Dec. 1, 2011.
